DC Ludhiana wishes residents on Diwali, Gurupurab and Vishwakarma Day

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Mr. Virinder Kumar Sharma today interacted with the residents through Facebook live session on the official page of District Public Relations Office, Ludhiana.
Mr. Sarma while congratulating the residents on the occasion of Diwali, Bandi Chodh Diwas and Vishwakarma Diwas at the commencement of the live session said that during these joyous festivals the instructions issued by the state government, wearing of masks, mutual distance etc. should also be ensured.

Appealing once again not to burn the straw, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was continuously seeking the cooperation of the farmers but still some farmers were burning the straw, which was a bad thing. He said that burning of straw has polluted our environment and it is very difficult for the patients suffering from respiratory diseases while the environment should be kept clean and tidy during festivals.

He further said that even on the day of Diwali firecrackers were allowed to be fired only from 8 pm to 10 pm and 20 per cent people were licensed to sell firecrackers.
