DC Jalandhar deployed of 150 GOGs in all mandis of district to ensure smooth procurement of wheat and prevention of Coronavirus

The district administration has deployed Guardians of Governance (GOGs) in all the mandis of the district to ensure smooth and smooth procurement of wheat crop brought by the farmers and prevention of coronavirus.

Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that 150 GOGs have been deployed in all the mandis of the district so that the farmers could carry out the procurement and lifting of crops in the mandis without any hassle. And to ensure compliance with the instructions and safety precautions issued by the Punjab Government and Health Department regarding COVID- 19.

 He said that in order to ensure compliance of COVID- 19 protocols as well as monitoring of procurement process, GOGs have been deployed in the buddy system so that the farmers who bring their produce in the mandis would not face any difficulty.

  He said that distribution of jiojiza with the purpose of prevention of coronavirus in the grain markets, plus akasimitaraza, thermal sakainaraza, N-95 masks and hand sanitizer. While the GOGs are checking the body temperature of those entering the mandis with thermal scanners, they are also checking the oxygen level of farmers, laborers and others through pulse oximeters to check the suspicious covid. – 19 cases could be isolated from others and they could be provided timely treatment facilities by the health authorities. Moreover, jiojiza for the use of focused procurement officials, farmers, commission agents, workers in the process is also provided to the mask and maintain.

He said that the GOGs have been involved in monitoring the entire procurement process in the mandis as well as enforcing the appropriate behavior of Covid to prevent the further spread of the virus. In addition, the coupon system has already been implemented in all the mandis to ensure compliance of social distance and other safety precautions related to Covid- 19 as well as regular disinfection in the mandis is also being sprayed.

 The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration was leaving no stone unturned in ensuring smooth and smooth procurement of wheat by properly implementing the safety protocols. He appealed to the farmers to bring only dry crops for sale in the mandis and to follow the instructions and safety precautions issued regarding covid so that they do not face any hassle in selling their crops.

 On the other hand, the District Head Guardians of Governance, Major General (Retd.) Balwinder Singh said that despite the Covid- 19, the procurement process was being carried out diligently by the GOGs for smooth and smooth conduct.
