An agreement has been reached between the farmers and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the planting of paddy.
Following the meeting with farmers’ leaders in Punjab Bhawan today, CM Mann has divided Punjab into two zones instead of four for paddy sowing.
Sowing can be done from June 14 in the first zone and June 17 in the second zone. The farmers will decide which districts will be included in which zones.
The MSP would be given to the farmers on the corn crop, the notification of which was shown to the farmers by the Chief Minister himself in the meeting.
Apart from this, paddy can be sown across the border in the border area from June 10.
