Commissionerate Police’s another crackdown on drug peddler, recover 5840 Tramadol tablets

In another breakthrough in anti-drugs drive,  the Jalandhar Commissioner Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered as many as 5840 Tramadol tablets, which is a commercial quantity.

Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the Police got a clue that Varun  Malik r/o Ladowali Road, who runs a medical shop Malik Medical Store in Diklusha Market was storing this drug in huge quantity.

Bhullar said that the Police teams accompanied by Drug Inspector Anupam Kalia raided the shop and conducted the extensive checking of the premises.

The Commissioner of Police said that during the checking the Police party recovered 5840 Tramadol tablets from the shop after which the owner Varun Malik was arrested by the Police teams. He said that during the investigation Malik revealed that he had adopted these activities to make quick money adding that his father was also a trader of medicines in Phagwara.

The CP said that the further investigation into the case is going on to trace the forward and backward linkages of the drug supply chain.
