On Saturday, Ekta Uppal, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) visited Shanti Vidya Mandir to celebrate World Postal Day by the students of Legal Literacy Club. On this occasion, Director Er Mohit Garg and Principal Lajni Madahar were also present.
The programme was organized to quaint students with snail-mail and an important role a postman played in the lives of their parents and grandparents. Besides making the students understand the feeling and connect that a handwritten letter used to bring.
The theme for this year’s World Post Day is “Innovate to Recover” to highlight the plight of postal systems in the changing times of a digital revolution and how it is adapting to new realities and redefining itself, taking on new roles founded on digitalization, e-commerce and financial services.
CJM said, the purpose of celebrating World Postal Day was to acquaint the children about the facilities available with the postal service and post office. The students made posters, letter boxes and wrote letters to their parents. The students of the school were taken to the post office where the students were put wiser about the various activities of the postal department and Sukhanya Samridhi Scheme.
She also spoke on World Mental Health Day which falls on the next day. Giving a word of advice to the students, she said that to keep mental health right, take a good diet daily. In which eat green vegetables, fruits and fibre-rich things. Exercise regularly and take a walk, do not stay alone for a long time because being alone also increases mental stress and has a direct effect on our nature.
