Chennai police distributes Rs. 10 lakh for children on police personnel who lost their lives in last two years

The city police today distributed Rs. 10.75 lakh for the education of the children of the police personnel who died in the last two years. The money was provided in the form of cheque presented by the Jain International Trade Organisation. The cash would be distributed among 96 children who lost their parents due to covid pandemic, accidents, and other ailments.

After the Police commissioner Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal visited St Thomas Mount Police Quarters in August, the initiative was taken as he went to inaugurate a community hall for the police families. Their he met children who suffered due to the death of their parents. The Chennai police decided to bring help to and support the studies of the children of the police men who died earlier.

70 policemen were lost by the city police in last 2 years. Around 13 students studying professional courses had received Rs. 25,000, at the same time, 17 college and diploma students received Rs. 15,000 each. The police quoted that further arrangements are also made to provide stipend to the children who are currently studying.
