Change in garbage collection charges in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has made some changes in Garbage Collection Charges. Now collection charges will be taken on the basis of number of kitchens not house-wise. The Municipal Corporation is planning to send these charges by adding it to the water bill. According to the Municipal Corporation, within four months, the process of sending the fee by adding it to the water bill will be applicable for the entire city. In the meeting of the House, the Municipal Corporation has passed a proposal to charge according to the number of kitchens.
Waste charges same, area increased (per kitchen)
Less than 2 Marla – Rs 50 2 to 10 Marla – 100 10 marla to 1 kanal – Rs 200 From 1 kanal to 2 kanal – Rs 250 Above 2 kanals – Rs 350 Street Vendor – Rs 50 Dhaba, Sweets or Coffee shop (as per SCO/SCF) – Rs 200 to 800 Guest house, Dharamshala, building, hotel, place to eat up to 50 people – Rs 2 thousand A place to eat more than 50 people, 3 star hotel – 3 thousand rupees Hotel with more than 3 stars – 5 thousand rupees Commercial offices, educational institutions, banks – Rs 2 thousand Hospitals, Clinics and Labs up to 50 beds (Non Biomedical Waste) – Rs 1000 Hospitals, clinics and labs more than 50 beds (non biomedical waste) – Rs 2000 Small industry (does not generate harmful waste) – Rs 1000 Warehouse, cold store – 2 thousand rupees Community centers and wedding venues – Rs 1 thousand per event Club, Cinema Hall, Pub – Rs 5000 Other Activities- Rs 1000
