Chandigarh to become bin free city, garbage transfer station started

Material recovery facility cum garbage transfer station has been started in Industrial Area Phase-II. Administrator VP Singh Badnore inaugurated this station. This plant has been built under Smart City Project Limited. On this occasion, Smart City CEO cum Municipal Corporation Commissioner KK Yadav informed the administrator about the transfer station. These garbage transfer stations will help in making Chandigarh a bin free city by reducing the transportation cost by improving garbage collection. This will remove all the garbage collection bins kept in place. Also, it will help in segregating the garbage at this station. Now first, the waste is collected from the houses or it gets deposited in the bin. After that it is taken to Sahaj Cleaning Center. Then from there it reaches the Garbage Processing Plant dumping ground. The cost of transportation is very high in this. Now all this cost will be saved. Along with this the problem of garbage in the city will also be solved. The city will become bin free.
