Chandigarh: Couple held with 2 country-made weapons and 10 live cartridges

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police has arrested a couple with illegal weapons. The arrested accused have been identified as Rahul and his wife Heena of Sector-25. Police have recovered .9 mm country-made pistol and five live cartridges from the accused Rahul. A .32 mm country-made pistol and five live cartridges were found from Rahul’s wife. Police investigation has revealed that both the husband and wife used to supply arms to the gangster and other people through social media.

The police had received information that these two accused were going to supply arms to someone in the city. In such a situation, the operation cell arrested the couple going in car number- CH04J1233 with weapons by putting a trap on the dividing road of Sector-36/42. When the police asked the accused Rahul and his wife Heena about the license of the weapon, they could not present it. After his arrest, he was produced in the court. Both the accused have been sent to police remand for five days by the court.

Due to a minor dispute in Maloya EWS Colony, some miscreants assaulted a young man and his uncle and badly injured him. In the complaint given to the police against the accused, the complainant youth told that a gold ring, chain and mobile phone were also snatched from him. The complainant Rajesh, a resident of Maloya, has told that he was returning home after getting the vaccine along with his uncle Kuldeep at around 11 am on July 10. Sunil, a resident of the colony, stopped them on the way. Sunil started beating him due to old enmity. On the complaint of Rajesh, the police registered a case and started action.
