Sachin Sharma, Chairman Punjab State Gaushalas Seva Commission has expressed gratitude toward Chief Minister Charanjit Singh for releasing Rs. 5 lakh for maintenance Gaushalas in the state.
Sharma said that the allocation of Rs. 22,85,00,000 by the state government for the maintenance of 457 Gaushalas was another historic decision of the state government. Earlier, the Punjab government had waived the outstanding electricity bills of all the Gaushalas in the state. He said that Rs.5 lakh has been released for the maintenance of each registered Gaushala in the state. There was a dearth of funds for cowsheds, green fodder, clean water, electricity and treatment of sick cows, which the Channi government has done a great deal for the welfare of the cows. Mr. Sachin Sharma further said that ‘Gau Mata’ is not only a symbol of faith of Hindu religion but also of Sikhs.
