Dr. SK Raju, Chief Elections Officer, Punjab on Tuesday briefed the media on the EVM-VVPAT arrangements in the state for the 2022 Assembly Elections that are due in February 2022.
“There is a possibility of 24, 689 polling booths to come up in the state in the next assembly elections. After the special summary revision, there is a chance to increase in the auxiliary polls,” Dr SK Raju.
“Our target is to make one polling booth for every 1200 voters,” he said.
He informed that the state elections commission presently has 24, 442 Controlling units.
