Cases of Large-scale Economic Exploitation of Patients in Haryana

There have been cases of large-scale economic exploitation of patients in the report. The committee submitted a report to Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, after which he met Chief Minister Manohar Lal late in the evening and apprised him of the seriousness of the matter. For the treatment of Covid patients, a committee was formed under the leadership of Additional District Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula Mohammad Imran Raza to check the bills of other private hospitals including two well-known private hospitals in Panchkula. The committee found that a large private hospital billed 36 hours of oxygen to a patient for 11 hours a day, compared to 24 hours a day. Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta met Chief Minister Manohar Lal and recommended strict action against these hospitals. He said that in case of violation of government orders, FIRs should be lodged against them under the relevant Acts. Patients who were over-recovered should be given back their money. The license of the guilty hospitals should be canceled and they should be removed from the government panel. The Speaker said that not only the whole of Haryana, but he has also received complaints of over-recovery by private hospitals by the people of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh.
