Case registered against two former DIGs of jail administration

Following the orders of DGP Punjab, Ferozepur City Police has registered a case against two former DIGs of Punjab Jail Sukhdev Singh Sagu and Lakhwinder Singh Jakhar in separate sections.

It is learned that while Lakhwinder Singh Jakhar and Sukhdev Singh Sagu were posted as jail superintendents in Ferozepur Central Jail, some drugs, mobiles and other illicit items were recovered from the jail which was illegal but both the officers misused their position Khurd Burd Rafa was dismissed, after nearly eleven years now these cases have been reopened and an FIR has been registered.

Following the registration of the case, the police are now preparing to question the two former officers, who may be arrested after the investigation. Former jail DIG Lakhwinder Singh Jakhar has been in the headlines many times before.

When the case of hanging of Bhai Rajoana, who was lodged in Patiala Jail, came to light and then he resigned from the post of DIG Jails, shouting ‘Yes’ in favor of the farmers who were fighting for their legal rights in agriculture.
