Captain Amarinder Singh inaugurates health centers across Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today inaugurated 107 Healthy Punjab Health Centers across the state in an online function from Chandigarh. On this occasion he encouraged the medical staff and para medical staff who played a commendable role during the covid and said that with these warriors we have succeeded in controlling the disease. On this occasion he appealed to the people of the state to be more vigilant in view of the current trend of Kovid and under the slogan of ‘Mission is the vaccine’ under Mission Fateh which could prove to be our helper in this fight.

On the occasion the Chief Minister said that these health centers would provide basic health services to the people close to their homes. He said that in these health centers 27 types of medicines and 6 types of medical tests are done absolutely free of cost. He said that the Union Government had also acknowledged that Punjab was a leading state in providing healthcare facilities. He said that the target was to set up 3049 centers in the state out of which 2046 have already been set up. Another 800 will be launched in the next two months.

Referring to Covid, the Chief Minister said that the state government had spent Rs.184.95 crore on PPE kits, 95N masks and other medical equipments in the state while medicines worth Rs.5.57 crore had been provided. On the occasion the Chief Minister also apprised about the Health Insurance Scheme, Child Health Program, Hepatitis and Cancer Treatment Facility and the work of the Health Department to create a drug free Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that 55 lakh people have been treated in these health centers since March 2019.
