The Punjab Government was launching a self-employment drive in the month of December under which banks would provide loans to the candidates starting their work under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana Scheme and Stand Up India Scheme.
Disclosing this here today District Employment and Business Officer Mr. Simpi Singla said that at the block level a meeting has been held with the branch managers and LDMs of Samana, Patran, Patiala and Sanour banks to settle the pending loan cases.
He said that the candidates who have to apply for self employment loan under various loan schemes run by the Punjab government can fill up the necessary information online from the comfort of their home. He said that under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme any candidate who is 18 years of age and has passed at least 8th standard can get up to Rs. 25 lakhs for setting up manufacturing units for starting self employment and up to Rs. 10 lakhs for setting up service units.
