District Magistrate Barnala Tej Partap Singh Phoolka has imposed a complete ban on bathing and swimming of the public in any of the major and minor rivers and canals passing through various places within the limits of district Barnala.
This order will not apply to divers who assist the administration in times of need. He said that sometimes students, youth and children go for bathing in the canals in summers and accidents like drowning occur due to the rapid flow of water in the canals. Therefore, the above prohibition orders have been issued, which will remain in force till July 29.
