A meeting of Barnala District Industrial Chamber in association with GMDIC was held today under the ‘Mission Fateh’ presided over by Deputy Commissioner Tej Partap Singh Phoolka. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Aditya Dechalwal was also present in the meeting. The meeting discussed the demands, difficulties and pro-industry schemes of the industrial units and industrialists during the coronavirus crisis.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that it was imperative to restore the functioning of the industrial units so that the workers would not be deprived of employment and the economy of the state would be boosted. He said that special attention should be paid by the industrial units to all the laborers especially the migrant workers during the crisis.
He told the industrialists that labour was the lifeblood of the industrial units, so special care should be taken of the migrant workers in this hour of crisis. They should not be deprived of food, shelter, or other facilities, he said.
Regarding the demand for labour from the industrialists, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Department of Employment Generation and Training was registering the local aspiring labourers, after which the demand of the industry would be met by imparting training to them.
Representatives from MSMEs Ludhiana also discussed the Central Government’s industry-related schemes. GM (DIC) Barnala Dharmapal Bhagat shared his views on the pro-industry initiatives being taken by the state government. While discussing MSMEs, the difficulties and demands of local industrialists during Covid-19 were also discussed.
