Ashu demands cancellation of e-auction of LIT properties

Punjab minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Friday asked the Punjab government for the cancellation of e-auction amid the protest by the opposition for the alleged corruption worth hundreds of crores in the sale of public property by Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT).

Taking to Twitter, Ashu urged the Punjab government to cancel the e-auction and of the said property and issue fresh dates for the new e-auction.

“In a bid to come clean on the baseless, frivolous and motivated allegations of opposition regarding the e-auction of a piece of land by Improvement Trust Ludhiana. I request the @PunjabGovtIndia to cancel the e-auction of the said land.and issue fresh dates for the new e-auction, so that any person who is willing to offer more money is able to participate.(2/2),” Ashu posted on Twitter,

On Thursday, the BJP activist in Ludhiana burnts the effigies of Ashu and chairman Improvement Trust Ludhiana Raman Balasubramaniam.

The BJP leaders in Ludhiana alleged the land and properties maintained by LIT were auctioned at throwaway prices to grant favour to the close aides.
