Fazilka, 7 June

The Anganwadi workers working under the Department of Women and Child Development were playing a vital role in spreading awareness among the women and children about the precautions of coronavirus. This information was given by District Program Officer Madam Hardeep Kaur.

He said that the Anganwadi workers were going door to door to educate the women about the importance of frequent hand washing, wearing masks, maintaining social distance and not spitting in the open to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Anganwadi workers reached out to every village level and made the women aware of the need to take special care of young children and keep them out of the house.

The District Program Officer said that since the lockout was carried out by the government, dry rations have been distributed to the beneficiaries by the workers of the department from door to door. He said that every Anganwadi worker was personally visiting the houses of the beneficiaries so that no beneficiary would be deprived of the materials sent by the government.
