Chandigarh, January 13: In a bid to ensure transparency and make transport services more easily available in the state, Punjab Transport Department has initiated digital pathways for registration of vehicles and driving licences. Now, all the transport department services are just a click away and people can avail these services through “Vahan and Sarathi” web applications 24×7 while sitting at their homes. These services can also be availed through the websites www.parivahan.gov.in and www.punjabtransport.org., said the Transport Minister Ms. Razia Sultana, while presiding over a high-level meeting of the senior officials.
The Minister said that the transport department has allowed the vehicle registration and driving license services through over 500 Sewa Kendras across the state to facilitate those people who are not well-versed with online working.
This new system would abolish the manual file submitting system in all the offices of the transport department.
