Chandigarh, October 9
Following the deadly attack on a Shia mosque in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province on Friday which has so far killed over 100 people, the Afghan Sikhs and Hindus have appealed to the India Government for their immediate evacuation from Kabul.
The council of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs met at Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul and appealed to the Indian government in a video message. “The situation here is deteriorating with each day. We appeal to the Indian Government to find the solution. We have Gurupurab of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji that we wish to celebrate in India. We all are in deep distress. We children, elders are living in constant fear,” appeal an Afghan Sikh in the video.
“We request the Indian government to evacuate us safely. We have assembled in Gurudwara at present but no place is safe here. The incidents of attack on religious places are being reported from everywhere,” he further added.
