Adequate facilities for quarantined people says DC Muktsar

Deputy Commissioner M K Aravinda Kumar today said that the people who came from Hazur Sahib and Rajasthan are getting adequate basic facilities including food and shelter.

Presiding over a biweekly meeting of all the senior officials, the Deputy Commissioner said that the people who are coming from outside the district are not allowed to reach their respective villages or localities in the city without the 14 days mandatory quarantine.
He said that these quarantine centers are made in government and public premises in city, Gidderbaha and Malout.

Deputy Commissioner took serious note of people making complaints about food and tea inside the government quarantine centers.
The officials in charge of these centre informed the DC that some miscreants are making false alarm of not getting adequate food supply to which the DC ordered to give such people a stringent warning.

Even if someone does not stop creating unnecessary trouble he or age should be immediately booked by the police.

“But at the same time if any official found not taking adequate care of the people who are quarantined then strict action too would be taken against the official”, the DC said.

He said that around 1000 people are quarantined at four separate places in Muktsar city, Gidderbaha, and Malout. These people are quarantined in government schools, colleges and in a dera.

The deputy commissioner said that apart from the food, shelter and toilet the medical facilities and their counseling too are being done on a regular basis.
