9 cases registered for spreading rumors and sharing misleading information about COVID-19

During the curfew imposed in the district to curb the spread of coronavirus, 311 cases of violation of rules have been registered so far, including 301 cases of violation of curfew, 502 persons have been arrested and a total of 172 vehicles have been seized.

District Police Chief Amnit Kondal said that 09 cases have been registered by the district police for spreading rumors and misleading information about Covid-19. One case of assault on a police party has also been registered.

Kondalsaid that 473 traffic-related challans have been issued. He said that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the officers and employees of the police department were carrying out their duties on the front line and set up roadblocks at various places to ensure that the instructions of the government were not followed.

Kondal appealed to the people of the district to follow the instructions of the Punjab government and the precautions taken by the health department to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
