6.56 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured in Bathinda district till Friday evening. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner B Srinivasan. He also said that till last evening, 4,28,529 metric tonnes of wheat had been lifted from the mandis. He also informed that till date 686207 metric tonnes of wheat has reached the mandis. He further said that so far Rs. 967 crore has been paid to the farmers.
District Food and Supply Controller Mandeep Singh Mann said that 186903 MT from Pungrain, 171511 MT from Markfed, 144297 MT from PUNSUP, 103754 MT from Punjab Warehouse and FCI procured 49020 metric tonnes of wheat. Apart from this, he also said that all the arrangements have been made for the farmers in the mandis in a proper manner.
