Giving this information, Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that the vaccination drive was in full swing in seven health institutions of the district and so far no health worker has been affected by the vaccination. He said that the work of vaccination was being carried out by the trained staff under the direct supervision of specialist doctors. Health care workers and front-line workers are currently being vaccinated and a total of 463 workers were vaccinated on Friday, including 28 first-dose, 158 second-dose, and 277 first-line frontline workers.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had on January 16 launched a campaign to give the first dose of vaccine to the health workers. Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that injection is very important to prevent the ‘Corona Virus’ epidemic. It may be mentioned that all the senior health officers of the district including Civil Surgeon, District Immunization Officer Dr. Veena Jarewal, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Daljit Singh, District Health Officer Subhash Sharma, SMO of District Hospital Dr. Vijay Bhagat, SMO 2 Dr. Harminderjit Singh Cheema has been injected.
Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that although the vaccine has been developed, there is still a need to be careful. He appealed to the people to go out of the house as soon as possible and cover their faces with masks, handkerchiefs, cloths, lime, quilts, etc., and keep a necessary distance from each other.
