4 arrested with 20 kg of Bhukki and Lahan in Bathinda

Bathinda Police has arrested four drug smugglers, including a woman, from different places and recovered 20 kg bhukki and 100 liters of Lahan from them. The smugglers had hidden the bhukki inside a truck full of onions, which they had brought from Rajasthan.

The police have started the next action by registering a case against the arrested accused under the Anti-Drug Act in Police Station Kotwali and Sadar Rampura. According to STF ASI Harbans Singh, the police had received secret information that bhukki was being brought hidden in a truck full of onions coming from Rajasthan towards Bathinda.

On the basis of information, the police team stopped the truck number RJ-13GB-2757 and searched it by blocking the Liberty Chowk, and then recovered about 20 kg of browned poppy sacks hidden in the onion sacks in the truck. After this, the police team arrested the accused Sandeep Kumar, resident of Bhuchho Mandi, Kulwant Singh and Amandeep Singh resident of village Chak Fateh Singh Wala, who were riding on the truck and registered a case against them at police station Kotwali.

Similarly, Havildar Jagdeep Singh of police station Sadar Rampura also raided village Chauke on the basis of secret information and arrested Sukhwinder Kaur, a woman smuggler with 100 liters of Lahan and registered a case against her under the Excise Act.
