In Bathinda district, 4,71,883 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured till Monday evening. This information has been given by the Deputy Commissioner of the district Mr. B Niwasan. He said that till last evening 284328 metric tonnes of wheat had been lifted from the mandis. On Monday 49618 metric tonnes of wheat had been procured. Pungrain has the highest procurement in the district as compared to other agencies.
Giving more information in this regard District Food Supply Comptroller Mandeep Singh Mann informed that till last evening Pungrain had collected 129061 metric tons, Markfed collected 124922 metric tons, PUNSUP collected 110245 metric ton and Punjab State Warehouse Corporation procured 72950 metric tonnes of wheat. Food Corporation of India procured 34256 metric tonnes and traders procured 449 metric tonnes of wheat. Also, payments of Rs. 456 crore has also been made till last evening.
