190 kg ‘doda post’ concealed in water tank seized, two arrested

Continuing its crackdown on drug peddling in the State, Haryana Police has seized 190 kg ‘doda post’ while it was being smuggled in a water tanker in Sirsa district. Two persons also arrested in this connection while search is on to nab the supplier. Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that the water tanker fitted with a tractor was on its way when a police team of Anti Narcotics Cell engaged in patrolling and checking near T-Point Bajekan Road Sirsa stopped the vehicle. When searched after suspicion, 190 kg of doda post was recovered from the water tanker. The arrested accused have been identified as Karan Kumar of village Panihari presently residing in Friends Colony, Sirsa and Ranjit Singh alias Sevak Singh, a resident of Panihari district Sirsa. The accused booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway.  They would be taken on remand after presenting them in the court so that names of others associated with this network of drug peddling could be unearthed.
