Under Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Mission, on the first two days’ of 4-days Mega Rozgar Mela, 1,225 youths were selected for employment by various companies besides the selection of 173 candidates for skill courses. The job fairs were held under the tutelage of ADC(Dev.) Sarbjeet Singh Walia was also present.
Giving this information, Vineet Kumar Deputy Commissioner said, In all, 34 companies – local and foreign, including Tech Mohindra, Flipcard, Matharu, ICICI Bank, etc. -have set up their counters on the first day at SBS State University and on the second day, at ITI Girls for on the spot selection of candidates by interviewing them.
He said the two-day job fairs were in full form for employment by a total of 1710 candidates for 3,360 posts, of which 1225 eligible students have been selected for the jobs. In addition, about 173 candidates were selected for skill courses. He said that the main objective of these fairs was to provide employment to the candidates in the district itself.
The next two job fairs will be at BDPO office, Zira on September 15 and at DDUKGKU Skill Centre Guruharsahai on September 17, he added.
DC made an appeal to the aspiring candidates of the district Ferozepur to participate in these fairs in maximum number to avail the opportunity to get the job.
